Whoa! Long time no see.

So I just read the SWAT story...holy ****! Another success story in the War on Drugs. Your tax dollars at work, folks. How did the lawsuit end up going? Or is it still in the works?

EDIT: Oh right, I forgot this is CGR and I can't curse here. Man it's been a long time.

Oh man! I had forgotten about this place again until I got the little million post message thing...

Sorry to leave all of you hanging. Of course, there's so much to say, even though nothing terribly drastic has happened...

I can't believe we are reunited. Haha. Now we just need Jon...

Anyway. I have to leave the house right now, but I promise I'll post as much as I can remember as soon as I have the opportunity.

Love you all.

The last person you kissed needs you at 3 am would you go?
Oddly enough, he's working until 3am tonight, and I'm picking him up. So. Yes.

Who did you hangout with last night?
I did some hardcore sleeping last night.

How much sleep did you get last night?
I went to bed at 4:30pm with the intention of taking a short nap... Didn't get up until I had to leave for work at 6:30am

What are you doing tomorrow?
Tomorrow, being Thanksgiving, I'll be sleeping in until like 10 or 11... Get a little dressed up, pick up Mike's (my boyfriend) parents in Jacksonville, then drive out to Stella... Hang out for a long while, and then come home, and go to sleep early enough to make it to work on Friday.

Do you think your ex still likes you?
Haha. No idea. He got married. To a broad I introduced him to.

What's the last thing you put in your mouth?
Coffee.

When was the last time you held hands with someone?
Mmmm... Night before last.

Did you ever lose a best friend?
I don't know.

What is wrong with you right now?
I'm bored.

Whose house did you go to today?
No one's.

Are you going to kiss the last person you kissed again?
Of course.

Do you know what you're wearing tomorrow?
Nope.

What is your current mood?
Calm.

Do you want to see somebody right now?
The d*mn toothfairy. I'm broke.

How's your day going so far?
I'm not making nearly as many tips as I should have.

Anything you're looking forward to?
Tomorrow. Not working. Just being.

Fact about the person you fell hardest for?
He's a writer and a philosopher.

Who gave you the last high five?
Ummm... My bar friend, Greg? I think I won the last Mancala game we played. Equaled high-five.

How's your heart?
Average.

How many texts are in your inbox?
A lot. Relatively. It receives emails, missed calls, voicemails, and texts all in one place... And I can't just delete them all at once. So, I'm putting off taking the time to delete them one by one.

When did your last hug take place?
7:07am today.

Name one person who is the most like you?
I don't really know anyone who's really like me. I mean, I guess my closest friends are the most like me in general... Myriah, Mike, Courtney, etc...

When was the last time you smiled?
When my last customer bought coffee.

Does anyone like you as more than a friend?
Yep. My boyfriend.

Who was the first person you talked to today?
The last customer who bought coffee.

What is something you really want right now?
To already have the life we're striving for, but still be the same age and know the same people and whatnot.

How many TRUE friends do you have?
I... Don't know.

If you could move somewhere else, would you?
Yeah. But I'd probably hold out here a few more months. My favorite bar is building up a new location right now, and I wanna help out with that and see it finished...

Do you prefer to call or text?
Text.

When is the next time you will hug someone?
Um... Dunno. I don't really hug frequently...

What are you doing this coming weekend?
Working Friday. Maybe at the new bar Saturday or Sunday. Hanging out with my friends Leila and Josh, probably at some point...

Do you have any fun plans for today?
No. Mike's working at the bar tonight, so I'll hang out until my money runs out.

Do you know anyone whose name starts with a Z?
Used to know a lot of Zacharys.

Is there anyone that you care more about than yourself?
I care about myself more than anyone else, but I can certainly think of several circumstances were I would feel protective of someone to the point of putting myself in harm's way for them.

Do you wear jewelry 24/7? If so what?
No.

What did you do today?
Am working.

What happened over the last two weeks?
Um. Nothing. Became a Port City Lowlife. Saw the new location. Finished art class. Celebrated at least four birthdays. Hung out with Peter. It was pretty good.

What'd you have for dinner?
Last night... Nothing. Slept through dinner time.

Any best friends?
A few.

What's one thing you can't wait to do?
Get married and have a house and a baby and all that...

So, what if you married the last person you kissed?
I would.

How many piercings do you have?
Right now, only five, including two in each ear.

Last person you told a secret to?
I don't really know any secrets.

What are you listening to at the moment?
Tiger Army: Power of Moonlite.

Who did you last get into a big argument with?
Michael.

Have you ever had a really big fight with a best friend?
Sure.

When will your next kiss be?
I'm getting sick of these questions... I don't know. Whenever I feel like it.

Do you have a best friend to lean on?
I always have either Mike (my hard-as-tacks, angry, "let's hate everyone together," rant boyfriend), Myriah (my "that sucks, I'm sorry, wanna hear how terrible my life is?" sister), or G-dog (my helpful, wise, kickass grandmother).

For Old Time's Sake...

From the first page of my blog... And, yes, there was an overabundance of netspeak...

1. Full name: Morgan Kayte Lutheran.
2. Birthplace: Carbondale, Illinois.
3. Nickname: Mo. But no one calls me that anymore.
4. Name spelled backwards is: nagroM.
5. Gender: Female.
6. Grade: Graduated.
7. School: Of hard knocks.
8. Birthday: March 5th.
9. Age: 21 (OH MY GOD. I was 15 when I did this the first time...)
10. Favorite color? Black.
11. Vanilla or Chocolate? Vanilla. Particularly in snow ice cream, lattes, and beverages.
12. Favorite store: Don't have one.
13. How long can you hold your breath? A little while.
14. Favorite food: Today... All I really want is some bacon and feta cheese.
15. Favorite number: Eight.
16. Water or Coke? Soda. I'm supremely unheathly.
17. Favorite salad dressing: Rice wine vinegar, sesame seed oil, and soy sauce.
18. What drinks do you like? Good coffee, 1809 Berlinerweiss with Waldmeister, a good framboise lambic, Rockstar, and cream soda.
19. Do you like fruit? Quite a bit.
20. Which family car you get to drive when you're older? I now own a 2003 Honda Element. It's totally sweet. The seats fold down and turn the whole car into a bed, or they fold down, then up again and attach to the walls, there's no carpet on the floors, there's a skylight in the back, the back doors are suicide doors, and there's no middle post between the doors, so you could carry a rowboat sideways... And it's a V4, so it still gets pretty decent gas mileage for an SUV. It's ridiculously cool.
21. Favorite Perfume or Cologne: Clinique Happy Heart. Hands down.
22. Favorite songs: Last Caress and Skulls by The Misfits, Walk Away and The Fields of Athenry by Dropkick Murphys, 1 Trillion Dollar$ by Anti-Flag, Walking Dead by The Matadors, Johnny, Remember Me by The Meteors, Radio Psycho by Mad Sin, Rose in the Devil's Garden and In the Orchard by Tiger Army, Mommy's Little Monster and Sick Boy by Social Distortion, Kissing the Lipless and New Slang by The Shins, Svefn-G-Englar by Sigur Ros, Psychobilly Freakout and Galaxy 5000 by Reverend Horton Heat, and Song Against Sex and King of the Carrot Flowers Pts I, II, and III by Neutral Milk Hotel.

26. Favorite sport to play: Softball.
27. How long have you played it? Played for about... Twelve years.

38. Favorite vacation spot: I haven't had a vacation in a long time...
39. Favorite vacation you've been on: I don't know.

41. One pillow or two? One body pillow along the top of the bed, and then my boyfriend and I have our own separate pillows on top of that.
42. Do you have pets? Yes. We have a black and white cat named Brian that we found about three years ago during a hurricane. Then we had to let him live outdoors at my grandma's house for a year while we were in an apartment where he couldn't live... Now he's back with us, but he has the FIV... The cat version of AIDs. But he's still the coolest cat ever.
43. Favorite type of movies: Um... Good movies...?
44. Favorite Actor/Actress: Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson, Vincent Gallo, Johnny Depp, Natalie Portman, Hugh Laurie, and Steve Buscemi (who, coincidentally, got in a bar fight and was stabbed here in Wilmington).
45. Hobbies: Stumbling.
46. Toothpaste: I really wanna try that vanilla mint toothpaste... Yummy.
47. Crush: I totally have a crush on this lifeguard, EMT, ninja, business-owner that comes into my coffee shop all of the time. He's dreamy.

Well, old friends, it's been a while.

Let's start with something easy. I hate my job. I worked at Bean's, my old coffee shop, off and on, for about four years. I eventually became the manager, and was even considering buying it. But then the owner got into legal trouble, a whole bunch of shiznit went down, I resigned, and then, two weeks later, it closed. Was never paid my last months wages. The owner ran from the law, was briefly encarcerated, and is now going about her normal routine, I assume.

I moved about an hour and a half away from my parents to Wilmington, North Carolina, home of UNCW. Now, I work for Port City Java. It was founded here in Wilmington, but has branched out just enough to blow up the owners' heads and make them think they're really far more wonderful than they have any capability of being. They are like a worse, more conceited version of Starbucks, if that's possible. Right now, I work nine hours two days a week on Wrightsville Beach where we have been making under $50 a day. But I stay on Wrightsville Beach because there I have no manager looking over my shoulder and no one to yell at me when my sleeves are pulled up whilst washing dishes and my tattoo shows. It's a load of beauracratic ********, and I hate everything about the place. I am, worst of all, embarrassed to even sell their product.

But I'm in Wilmington. Out of Jacksonville, and that, in itself, is apparently quite an accomplishment.

Michael and I have been dating for just over three and a half years. We broke up during the summer of '07 for three months (actually, he broke up with me), during which time, I was very lost. I started talking to some guy who tried to molest me in his barracks room, after, of course, taking me to church with him... And then I started casually dating a crazy, pot-smoking, alcoholic hippie, started drinking too much, and made plans to travel the US, couch surfing until we couldn't go any further. After having slept with him once (Not sure what happened. Am curious to this day if there wasn't some sort of date-rape drug involved... Yay. Go me.), he ran off with another crazy dreadlocked girl that I had introduced him to. She had told me that she was annoyed by him and wanted nothing to do with him, so I tried to keep them apart, but she was only playing games and was trying to make me look bad. He gave her the clap, they broke up, and then shortly thereafter, they got married and are now living in California. Lesson learned.

During all of this, Mike was still coming into Bean's occasionally, even when I was working, and would frequently bring his new little girl of the week with him. I was very angry and depressed for a while, lost about 50lbs, which was okay, because I had been overweight, and then finally started living for myself again. On my sister's 19th birthday, we went out to get tattoos. She and my current roommate got their first ones, and I got my second. Later that night, we went out to the local bar to meet with more friends. Little did we know, Mike and Spears were there. I finally got up the courage to text Mike and tell him that I was sick of him being a ☺☺☺☺, and either he would have to find a way to never be near me again, or he would have to be civil. He didn't reply.

Later that night, around 4am, I received a text back. I was just falling asleep. He was pretty drunk. He said he didn't think we could be friends again. I said that was fine, I was just trying to be nice. He went on to say how upset he was and about how awful things were for him. I told him I was sorry and that I wished I could be there for him, but that that clearly wasn't what he wanted. He said that it was what he wanted. So I drove the thirty-mile trip in 19 minutes, found him, and we talked face to face for the first time in over three months. It was the strangest feeling ever. To have not seen someone that you were used to seeing everyday, and then be in their presence again was incredibly unsettling. We talked for a while, catching up, and then he asked me what was going to happen next. I told him the ball was in his court. And then he said, "Well, why don't we start right here..." And then he kissed me.

It's now been over a year since we got back together, and he's not walked out on me once. We both have matured a lot. He has learned to be patient and kind, and I've learned to be independent and understanding. He's in school full-time at UNCW, majoring in Philosophy and Political Science and hopes to be a teacher at a major university someday. And, after growing up in a household where his mother had three previous husbands, and his parents had had an on again off again relationship for the majority of his teenage years, he's finally decided to start thinking about getting married. The only thing holding him back now is his degree. He wants to be working on his final year of college before we get engaged. Which buys him a lot of time, as he's planning on getting a doctorate. I, of course, would get married next week, but this is one of those things where we even one another out.

P.S. I am now twenty-one, and he is twenty-eight.

That's really the main thing that happened to me in the past few years... And now I'm just tired.

I hope that's entertained you enough for right now. Perhaps I'll have the inspiration to write more sometime soon.

Love you all. Hope all is well. If you have the time, give me an update on yourselves...

Not a huge update from me.

I decided my life was pathetic, and prepared myself for the next step. The next step ended up being to fall in love again, but this time, it took. We met here, then we met in San Francisco, where she lived. She started going to school in Roseville (half way between us), and I started working on finding a way to get out of Loyalton.

I got a job with the largest private ambulance company in the nation, moved to Roseville, and started working in Sacramento. Half a year later, I was working in Roseville. And I still am.

Rachel and I got married two years ago, and every day with her sets a new record for me and how long I've been able to stay in a relationship. So, that's going well. We play video games together.

And... my life has been exactly the same almost every day for the last two years. That's about it.

Great to hear from you.

I left school, joined a prison ministry, got a telephone customer service job, got fired from it for missing too many days, got a job at Target, got fired from it for missing too many days, sat on my ass depressed for a few months, then moved down to Houston to help Grandma flip houses, joined a fantastic church here, learned how to tear things down, build more things, how to lay tile and how to be proud of myself, cut my hair, decided to stay in Houston, met a girl, started working at the previously-mentioned fantastic church as a security gaurd, dated the girl, got dumped on my birthday, had a birthday party, struggled throughout with lust and loneliness, returned to school, had a hurricane destroy my house, had the twice-mentioned church help me out more than I ever expected, grew my hair and a mustache, and got t-boned and given a computer.

And throughout it, God has been beside me, behind me, and before me. This year, especially, has been one hell of a ride.

I forgot to mention that Myriah, my little sister, lives in Kansas now.

With an emotionally abusive a-hole.

That she's dated for less than a year.

Who screens her calls.

Tells her what to wear.

Tells her how to eat and constantly talks about dieting. (She's anorexic.)

Who couldn't hack the Marine Corps.

Is only starting school.

And has only a part-time job.

But a full-time drinking/narcotic problem.

And I just find out today that she's engaged to this piece of crap. And I'm the only one who didn't know. Out of my whole family. I nearly threw up when my little brother told me.

And then I remembered my grandmother telling me that she wished Mike would propose for Christmas. And now I know why. Why she said that now. This year. And why she sounded concerned.

Awesome.

So, not only do I get to deal with being her older sister and being with the same guy for almost four years, and not being engaged or have any chance of being engaged for another few years...

She's planning to marry someone who cannot possibly make her a better person, or help her in any way.

She's going to be the trophy wife of a guy who won't let her get out of it.

And I'm not even supposed to know.

How can you be comfortable being engaged to someone you don't even want to tell your best friend about? Let alone your sister?

I can't count on one hand the number of times she's called me crying her eyes out because of the way he was treating her. Or not treating her due to being stoned out of his mind.

He almost caused me to get a DWI.

Everyone who knows the two of them and cares about Myriah has vowed to beat the crap out of him if he shows his face in this state again. Including my little brother, Mike, and Myriah and Matt's former roommate, Courtney, who is my current roommate.

And yes, I'm jealous. But not in an unhealthy way. I'm more angry and sad. And I don't know what to do.
