My problem with Heart of worship is that for many youth groups it has become the very thing it is singing AGAINST!!!!
as for I can only imagin... isn't the main thing in that song talking about how it will be to be with God face to face?? heh, I can't EVEN imagin that. No matter HOW much the bible tells us, we can't comprehend that.
Quote:
I Love You Lord---not sure which one is referred to, but I love the one that
goes...I love you Lord, and I lift my voice...I think of it more of a
prayer for help than an actual reality.

Are you saying that even AFTER we are saved... we are still unable to actually love God???
Quote:
I could sing of your love forever---this one...ugh...what is God's river? I don't
recall that in the Bible. Plus, I think God would like us to praise Him
more than tell Him we could sing of His love forever.

It IS praising God if you tell him that He is so great, that you could praise Him FOREVER, cause He'd deserve that much praise. There are people who you praise a little, and the praise stops, cause that's all the praise they deserved.. but God, you could praise forever, and not run out of things to praise Him for.
God deffinatlly has a river..
Eze 29:9 And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD: because he hath said, The
river [is] mine, and I have made [it].
Seriously though,
Psa 36:8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the
river of thy pleasures.
Psa 46:4 [There is] a
river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy [place] of the tabernacles of the most High.
Psa 65:9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the
river of God, [which] is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure
river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Isa 66:12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a
river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon [her] sides, and be dandled upon [her] knees
but my guess is that the actual song is a poetic feature. Nothing in the bible says you can't be Unique when worshiping Him.
Isa 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a
river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
Jer 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and [that] spreadeth out her roots by the
river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Cource, I don't think any of those scriptures fit... but my theory will probably cause you to never sing the song again

See, I believe the "river" is refering to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, From my experiance, poets like to describe that as a river
.
