...so who's seen this movie? Putting aside the Hollywoodness, how did the issues brought up in the movie affect you as a Christian?

It was an encouragement for me, since movies nowadays rarely show faith as something real and not a folly. The movie is about faith, and it shows it in a nice way. IT was funny too

Sorry mods, I have to make one quick comment before you lock this up. Yes, it's nice to have a film-maker like M. Night nowadays. He seems like a really great guy and is a rarity in Hollywood. The fact that he doesn't include any unnecessary sex, etc. is refreshing. I love P.T. Anderson (the other great young director) to death and he is incredibly talented, but he just includes way too many unnecessary things. Actually, is M. Night a Christian? I know he is a family man, but I haven't heard anything about his beliefs. Anyone know?

He attended an Episcopal school as a child, and his family has always been "religious" (I think his mom at least is Hindu). Other than that, however, I do not know.

Yes, but the other thread is chock full of spoilers.

Maybe the mods should leave this one for those who haven't seen it yet and don't particularly enjoy having the entire movie spoiled. Maybe we should make this kind of a "no spoiler allowed" thread.

But anyway, it most definately was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Awesome faith message with little to no offensive material. The only thing I didn't really like was the language. I realize it wasn't that bad, but it could've been better. Absolutely NO sexual content whatsoever. NONE! That is so rare nowadays! Applause to M. Night. (hey his name is pretty similar to mine. )
