This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

Picked up my first in 1988. Is that 21 years?
I have played as much as 16 hours a day.
I only got serious about 2004 so I'd say serious guitar for about 5 years.

I've been playing since 1978. Started when I got out of Basic training in the Navy. I played piano before I went in the Navy, and needed a more portable instrument.

Well, I started when I was 14, and I'm 18 now, so that makes 4 years! I've played 1-3 hours every day (2-3 most days) and I've done that for a long time now! I've just fell in love with the guitar and I never want to stop playing! Truthfully, I'd like to be able to play professionally and God has just blessed me with the ability to play anything I want too!

Started playing when I was 7 or 8 and I'm 15 now, so it's around eight years. Didn't play at churches until I was nearly 12.

Started playing 2 months before my 60th birthday. Always loved guitars but could never tune one, so when I heard about chromatic tuners, I decided to buy one and learn to play. I have now been playing over a year and I love it.

When I was a young man they had these tuning whistles that you blew into which could be used to tune your instrument. I just couldn't match the whistle tone to the guitar, nor could I replicate the keys when tuning string to string. Seems that these handicaps haven't kept me learning to play.
