| The devil has a tight grip on me... The other day, I was in a CD store and couldn't find anything. They didn't have much of a selection, but the bands I was looking for aren't exactly at every CD store either. Anyways, to get an idea of their selection, I checked the Metallica CDs, since they're a mainstream metal band. I looked at their copy of Master of Puppets, which features a sunset sky and an endless field of crosses with two hands in the sky holding strings attached to each of the crosses, symbolising how certain governments treat their soldiers and such. If you've seen Enemy At The Gates, you'll understand this better: How they slaughtered their own soldiers for not being blind sheep and running straight into their own deaths...
Anyways, some lady next to me tells me I need to shapen up, the devil's got a tight grip on me and I shouldn't even think of buying a CD with zombies and demons on the cover!!!
What the heck??!?!?
Why must people judge like that when they have no clue what they're talking about? Why must they believe everything the media tells them?

Eyes of a fallen angel,
Eyes of a tragedy... A-ramble on, and now's the time, the time is now

On my way, I've been this way ten years to the day
Ramble on, gotta find the queen of all my dreams...

| They were juding a book by its cover, demonic outside must mean demonic inside.....Maybe they werent going by the media. Maybe they thought it was a sacreligious cover and disliked it. Maybe they think metallica is evil? Who knows. People are like that.......Kinda like juding a nu-metal CD without actually listening to it.

| There's nothing demonic about the cover or the music or the lyrics.
Here's the picture, look closely and you'll see a soldier's helmet hanging from one cross and a dog tag hanging on another.

| I don't see any dogtags nor helmets on that picture..
From a distance, no one would be able to tell if infact there was a a helmet or dogtags, from the picture, I can't even see them......Because of that, I don't really expect the person you talked about to see it either unless they put it up to thier face and saw the tags & helmet. From a distance, someone would think " Oh Lord! They have a graveyard on that" Graveyards are a staple of horror movies......Horror movies = usually have some sort of evil nature. So the person would think that because of the graveyard that it must be evil. People pass judgement......Get used to it. No one really has an informed opinion on everything in this world, because of that, they'll use thier standpoint.

| I think that judging is a problem we with always have to deal with. But the more people we explain it to, the fewer we have to deal with

What most people say:
Ride the Lightning - OK
Master of Puppets - Best Metallica album
...And Justice For All - Overrated
What I say:

Just my personal opinion :kgrin:
Oh, and SenorPapaCabasa, you like Metallica, right? Check out the Metallica forums, http://www.metallicabb.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
It's a great community, we have abortion/gun rights/animal rights/evolution/etc debates from time to time, I found out about many other bands there too.
Great forum, I'm nemesis there.

Most people stay around the Music/General/Wasteland area, since Metallica hasn't really done anything for a few years, there's not much to do in the Anything Met section...but there will be when the new album comes out

However, something that irks me is when I ask someone at our church (or anywhere else) if they know of any good Christian metal bands and they tell me to check out POD...I don't like nu-metal, I lean more toward thrash/death/progressive metal... | hey check out living sacrifice...if you havent already..and zao is great and soul embraced and Norma Jean are just balls to the wall amazing man i definately recommend checkin them out rock out!!!!!! |
