no no no...it will not be missing things from the theatrical cut...it will have extra stuff, and I'm sure that you can watch both the original and the restored versions, since New Line's Infinifilm lets you do that. I think LOTR is New Line...I could be mistaken.

Anyway, that's what I think. It only makes sense.

Yes, it is New Line Cinema. I didn't know they did the Infinifilm ones though. I've only seen like one dvd like that out, and that was 13 Days, and I've never rented it, so I don't know what the deal is with that. I have seen pics of the dvd case though, and it doesn't say Infinifilm on it, so who knows.

Besides, I'm sure they wouldnt leave out parts of the original movie. Only add stuff, at least. So worry not your little heads.

It's not that they would leave parts out of the original movie, but the extras that they put on the movie that comes out in august will be different than the ones on the special edition. They say they have the music video for that song by Enya, but I haven't heard that it will be on the special edition. That's why I'll probly get both, cause there will be different extras on each edition.

Don't buy LOTR when it first comes out unless u really want to because it will come out in either Oct. or Sept. with about an extra hour of deleted scenes. It should be awesome. God Bless:kgrin:

Well, if you really can't wait to see the movie, get the first one, but if you can wait, and you are interested in all the extra's, just wait till November. Maybe you can get the first one and "accidentally" lose it, so your folks will have to buy you the 2nd one

I preordered it about two months ago, before I even heard about the special edition one. I'll probably end up getting both. Why not? It's like the best movie in the world.

I couldn't deside what version either, then my friend said that he would get me the Aug 6th version for my b-day (Aug 7th.). So, I'm gonna order the November one. I'm happy!
