| Some family friends came over last night, and all the younger people watched a movie, and since I was the only male there of the teens and younger group (Though I'm less than a year off NOT being a teenager--Yay!), we watched this movie. All the women wanted to watch it, and considering I read on Switchfoot's website that it had four songs from them on the soundtrack and Mandy Moore actually sang "Only Hope" during the movie, I was kinda interested in seeing it (Only Hope is my favorite Switchfoot song--it's REALLY good, and though I still prefer the Switchfoot version, Mandy Moore did a good job with it).
The plot is total chick flick, and is nothing way too out of the ordinary. However, the acting was pretty darn good, and I loved the Christian twists mixed into such a mainstream movie. I personally think that the Christian influence is what separated this movie from the crowd, so to speak. While it was quite depressing, at the same time, it's extremely uplifting.
Just my two cents.
