Popular Worship Leader Matt Redman Releases New Album On July 16

(NASHVILLE, TN) June 20, 2002-Regarded as one of the most respected worship leaders of our time, Matt Redman will be releasing Where Angels Fear To Tread on July 16th. Over the past few years, Matt Redman has provided new anthems for the church with songs such as "The Heart of Worship," "Let My Words Be Few," and "Better Is One Day." With Where Angels Fear To Tread, he continues to share the hearts cry for the church with 11 all new songs.

Produced by Dwayne Larring and Jason Halbert (formerly of SONICFLOOd) Where Angels Fear To Tread features a blend of guitar-based modern pop and rock sounds. Passionately devoted to leading God's children to a deeper understanding of worship, this new collection of songs radiates that passion and continues the musical legacy that has made Matt Redman a groundbreaking force in the modern worship movement.

"Matt seems to embody what new worship is all about," states Grant Cunningham, Sparrow Records Vice President, A&R. "Like the hymn-writers of centuries ago did, he speaks the timeless truth and passionate worship of God in the musical language of the day. And with modern worship as with any genre of music, there will always be a lot created that is important for the moment; but there is also rare and exceptional music that will live on and on. Matt creates the latter, and I firmly believe it's because he's been gifted and called to do so."

With 6 songs in the top 500 CCLI chart which include "The Heart of Worship," "Let My Words Be Few," "Once Again," and "Better Is One Day" and with well over 100,000 career units sold to date, Matt continues to be a predominant influence within worship music.

Fresh off the road from a spring 2002 US tour with Delirious, Matt continues his work with Soul Survivor and has developed into a mentor and teacher to many up and coming worship leaders such as Chris Tomlin and Tim Hughes. In addition to being a songwriter, Matt has also contributed his talents to the literary world and recently wrote The Unquenchable Worshiper on Regal Books.
