(NASHVILLE, TN) June 17, 2002- Having sold more than 180,000 units to date and performed before an estimated audience of two million since January 2001, including tours with Destiny's Child and Aaron Carter, Essential Records' foursome True Vibe plows ahead with the release of its sophomore album, See The Light, in stores August 20th.
See The Light showcases the all-star production team of Dan Muckala (Aaron Neville, Mandy Moore), Todd Collins (Out of Eden, TobyMac), Pete Kipley (Rachel Lampa, Plus One) and Take 6's Mark Kibble with Jonathan Lippmann on "Not What I Say." Written in cooperation with True Vibe, Scott Krippayne, Mark Kibble, Dan Muckula and 4HIM's Mark Harris, the record reveals the group's personal and artistic growth since its debut more than a year ago.
"We've worked consistently over the past year to improve ourselves as individuals and as a group," commented Jonathan Lippmann of True Vibe. "The result of our efforts is a mature sound, more thoughtful lyrics and an album that represents who we are now."
See The Light joins intricate harmonies with meaningful testimony of God's sovereignty on songs like the worshipful "You Are Holy," the soulful "Supernatural," and the debut radio single "See The Light," which releases to multiple formats on June 21st. The album features an eclectic mix of musical styles, indicative of True Vibe's wide-ranging influences.
"We've poured our hearts and talents into this project," says True Vibe's Jordan Roe. "We all grew up learning music the classical way, but with different influences. See The Light is a representation of the various styles we appreciate."
Essential Records A&R manager Jordyn Thomas agrees that True Vibe took creative ownership of See The Light start to finish. "The guys were eager to participate hands-on in the production process. They had a vision for See The Light before they ever stepped foot in the studio, and they were very dedicated to seeing that vision to fruition."
In support of See The Light, True Vibe plans to maintain a busy touring schedule this summer with performances at Alive Festival, Atlanta Fest, Celebrate Freedom, Inside Out Soul Festival, Kingdom Bound, Rock The Universe, and Summer JAM 2002, which kicks off July 24 and visits 15 cities nationwide.
True Vibe's self-titled recording was the year's highest-selling debut when it released in May 2001 and sparked the multi-format No. 1 and international hit song "Now and Forever." True Vibe later added to its radio success the No.1 single "Sweet Jesus" and two Top 5 songs "Jump, Jump, Jump" and "You Are The Way." In addition to appearances on the Radio Disney Live! World Tour 2001 and The CoverGirl Model Experience Contest, True Vibe performed the national anthem at ABC's Monday Night Football and other NFL, NBA and major league baseball events. Furthermore, True Vibe was featured on the soundtrack album for the 2001 Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies animated feature film, "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" and the title cut to the 2001 Miramax motion picture "On the Line" with *NSYNC's Lance Bass and Joey Fatone.
