| First Zao cd ever for me, and it got me hooked on a whole new lifestyle and genre of music. Every song is totally amazing, and i really like the clips from Event Horizon, and the how the songs are all based around Dante's Inferno and the five circles of hell. It makes it so much more interesting. My personal favorite is If These Scars Could Speak, or Dark Cold Sound, but every single song is equally as good. buy buy buy!

#4 | | Guest | Every time I listen to this CD.... ...I fall in love with it all over again. People talk about how "Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest" is harder than this CD, or how no Zao CD sounds as good as "Splintered Shards" did, but this by far is my fav Zao CD. Like right now, I'm listening to "If These Scars Could Speak", and I had to just quit typing because the impact of the music just hit me so hard that I had to just sit here and listen to it. It's insane. I love it.
Favorite tracks are definitely "If These Scars Could Speak", "Desire the End", "Man in Cage Jack Wilson" (because I absolutely love the fact that they just build that song for a full seven minutes) and the AMAZING "Skin Like Winter". But....as much as I like this album's version of this song, you HAVE to hear the earlier version that they recorded for the split EP with Training for Utopia (another awesome band that will be missed). It has Shawn Jonas, the vocalist before Dan came to town, but OMG does he throw down on this song! It is amazing. Good luck finding it though. Even a good download of it was hard for me to find, but IT'S WORTH THE EFFORT. Trust me. This CD = amazing. If you don't have it, you are depraved. Go and buy. Now. That is all.

| i definitely agree with the anonymouse: ex infernis is bar far zAo's best work. when i finally got my hands on where blood and fire bring rest, i couldnt figure out why people liked it so much......the lyrics on infernis are better and musically it's much heavier. the ghost psalm is still their best song ever. period. |

#7 | | Guest | Killer Album Zao is by far my favorite band, and Liberate is a great album. You have songs like Circle II The Lustful: Autopsy, that just amaze the listener. There is so much creativity in this album, and the lyrics are amazing. Zao really hit it off when Daniel Weyandt took over the vox position. Shawn Jonas was decent, but his lyrical talent is miniscule compared to that of Dan. Buy this album. If you are some HxC grinding tough guy, be prepared to learn that good metalcore does not just simply consist of the fastest riffs and double kicks...
