| Chris' style has evolved and he really seems to be showing his heart on this CD. The songs are really powerful, and rich with imagery and emotion. I love this CD.

| An awesome cd from the amazing, and mostly unknown Chris Rice.
It seems this guy is often swept under the rug compered to the 'higher' end opf Christian Music. But still his powerful(and sometimes goofy) lyrics should bring on many listeners.
He turns more to a circus-kind of music for a few of these songs. Yet maintains the powerful piano ballads.(3. Belong)
1. Questions For Heaven
A circus kinda sound to it. Yet, it's unique written style of the questions we might ask God when we get to heavn. And to be content with the answers we have now here on earth.
2. Smell The Color 9
A great song that speaks of the times when we feel far from God and that no-one cares. Yet, in those times we can know that our heart is still poundin' and we're doing fine in Him. And we can trust Him even when we feel far away.
3. Belong
A moving ballad of how we feel so far from God, and yet we're so near. That in our hard times he comes to us, and leads us on out of those hard places.
4. The Face Of Christ
You never know where you might see God, as Chris writes of a man who's in prison, yet keeps his faith in God.
5. Home Tonight
This song talks about how often we run away from God, and that he has every right to slam the door in our faces, yet instead he welcomes us back into his arms.
6. Magic Wand
It talks about the power of prayer in the end. Not much of a meaning otherwise.
7. Sailing With Russell
Memories. That's all I can draw.
8. My Prayer
Us going through a hard time and a prayer we might have, written out. In a beautiful song form.
9. Somebody's Watchin'
On the dark nights, when we feel alone and that no one cares. He's still watching.
10. Life Means So Much
Count your days, and make them count. This could easily be the best song from the whole album. I would recommend this cd to anyone looking for heart-felt lyrics with a strong piano sense in them.:ksmile:

#4 | | Guest | Smell the Color 9, Chris Rice When I first heard this song about two years ago, I was going through a deep depression and really felt far from God. Something in the words, the profoundness of them, kept me from ending my life. I know God used this talented singer/song writer to touch my woundedness and bring me out of the mire. Thanks and keep on listening to the Lord's leading. God Bless!! | |
