(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) May 31, 2002 – 7th Element, the latest artist to emerge from Allen & Allen Music Group, will release its debut project, entitled simply, Volume One, on June 25, 2002. The record, which is already garnering critical acclaim, will feature scintillating vocal harmony blended with R&B, pop ballads, Negro spirituals, traditional hymns, and smooth jazz.
For the launch of 7th Element, Allen & Allen Music Group has implemented a strategic radio, retail, publicity and Internet campaign around the release of Volume One. The label will raise fan awareness of the group by offering special promotions on popular websites such as
GospelFlava.com and
GospelCity.com, while point-of-purchase marketing materials such as flats and postcards have been designed to capture attention at retail. 7th Element advertisements will also appear in top industry magazines, and cover and feature articles will be solicited through targeted publicity efforts in both industry and consumer publications.
In addition, the label plans to maximize radio airplay of 7th Element at several hundred top gospel and Christian stations, and to target select radio markets for promotional give-a-ways and advertisements. Although songs from Volume One are already being played on popular stations such as Star 94.5 in Orlando and WCBS 101.5 in New York, AAMG will debut the a cappella arrangement of “Ride The Chariot” to Gospel radio formats, with the simultaneous release of “Everything That’s Beautiful” to Adult Contemporary stations. The six members of 7th Element will also conduct radio interviews via telephone and by personal appearances with participating stations nationwide and record customized station identification announcements for the top 200 stations. The group is already touring heavily, with offers pouring in nationwide and even from three separate European countries.
7th Element consists of the four Greene brothers, Curt, Darren, Garth, and Kevin, as well as long-time friends, David “Dee” Glover and Marc Dwyer. The group has been singing together under the name of 7th Element since 1999, but they share an even longer history. Explains Marc, “The Greene brothers have been performing all of their lives; they even had an album out when they were kids. Our fathers also used to sing together back in the 1950’s!”
Marc continues, “David and I sang together in another group in New York for seven years, and were both signed to two separate mainstream deals, one with Capitol Records and the other with Epic/Sony. However, we ended up walking away from those deals because we didn’t want to make music if it compromised who we were and what we believed in.”
Group members designed their unusual name, 7th Element, out of a desire to honor Christ through their music. Each group member took a number, Element One through Element Six to represent his part in the harmony, and they gave Christ the number seven; thus, the group is named after Christ, the 7th
Element.
With all of the members of 7th Element taking part in the songwriting process, Volume One is already attracting critical acclaim in the industry, drawing comparisons to multi-GRAMMY winning and platinum-selling artist, Take 6, while exploring a creative and innovative style. Well-known professional a cappella singer Wendy Proctor writes, “What struck me the most is the group’s lush vocal arranging and chords, flawlessly executed by the group’s six members. This CD is a worthwhile investment to add to your collection, one that will bless you. I’m sure with all the talented vocals, 7th Element will be in the music scene for quite awhile. If you like a cappella music, this gets a 10!”
In addition to the release of Volume One, the members of 7th Element have also set up the E7 Youth Development Group (E7YDG) in order to help young people obtain an education and pursue their dreams in music. Every copy of Volume One sold will help fund the non-profit organization, which will provide several deserving children each year with the money for a Christian education. In addition, the E7 Youth Development Group has a mentorship program to help aspiring artists. Group members will sponsor young musicians, flying the students to Orlando, taking them to Disney World, taking them backstage at performances, and buying them music equipment of their own to help advance their careers.
