Nix, I don't think I've heard her stuff, but I read a little about her HERE and apparently she used to sing backup for Peter Gabriel. The critics like her voice though saying - "She has one of the most expressive voices around, that can express both vulnerability and powerful rage completely convincingly. Also, the songs take you on an emotional journey with her. Each one leads into the other."

I think your next recording should express the "powerful rage" your teacher must have heard in you Nix!!

I found samples of all her song she sang and on of them that I know of is the Dawson's Creek theme song..... "I don't wanna wait.... for our lives to be over"

Talking

All my friends say that I am going to be the next Steven Curtis Chapman, I guess that means that I sound like him. I also sound like Matt from the Supertones, and a little like Bart from Mercyme.

Bob Carlisle. At least I like to think so! Probably more like Bryan Adams though...

Talking I'm Kinda like...

I accutally try to sing like Reese Roper from Five Iron Frenzy, I can get the same overall tone as he can, its kinda neet! I can also harmonize with the singer from Saves The Day. I'm an impersonational singer basicly, I try to mimic many singers, and for the most part it works, as far as I know anyway! But if I had to say I sang like one person, I'd be Reese.

ive been told i sound like chris carraba of dashboard confessional and also shane barnard on occasion...but in the mood i can sound like just about anyone. if i listen to the music i can change my voice to it. ive also been told i can sing like the lead singer of 12 stones and kutless...hmmmm...dunno about that. my screaming skillz arent that great. haha. personally i dont like my voice, i dont trust it enough, and im not comfortable singing in front of people, but gettin there.
