#81 | | Guest | Go Kings!!! All Lakers fans think that the Lakers are unstoppable when they are on, but the fact is that the Lakers have ONE really good player, ONE really big player, and a bunch of guys who might come up big sometimes. The fact is, when the Kings are playing their "A" game, a game they have only played a few times all year, they are not going to be beat. If both the Lakers and the Kings play their "A" game for the entire game, the Kings have the advantage, because they have a deeper bench. And if Bibby plays like he did against the Mavs, it's lights out.
Here's something that gets me... How did Shaq and Kobe BOTH make the All NBA First Team, when Sac only had Webber on the second team, and a better record?? And what's up with Doug Christie being left off the All NBA Defensive First team??? What a rip off! Not to mention all of the awards that Detroit won that they didn't deserve. Lame.

You have obviously not watching him in the last 5 minutes of any playoff games. He simply took the team to victory against the spurs in game 4. Yes, it would be a close series, but Sacramento is not better than the Lakers. Look at how the Mavs destroyed the Wolves. Everyone thought they would RIP the Kings. now everyone thinks the Kings are the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Lakers have the best composure of any team. Kobe is an awesome player. You might not like him, but you have to give him credit for being a darn good player. Quote: | Here's something that gets me... Quote: | Not to mention all of the awards that Detroit won that they didn't deserve. Lame. | Ben Wallace was the defensive player of the year. nearly 4 shots blocked a game, and 12 rebounds(8 being defensive) will get you defense. And Corliss Williamson is good too. Bobby J could of gotten it, but didn't . Rick Carlisle deserved Coach of the year, cause that team is NOT very talented besides Ben and jerry.
Anyways, don't take any of this personally, i just don't agree with most of what you're saying.

#84 | | Guest | Okay, so I lacked speceficity. Here we go.
Kobe Bryant is one of the 5 best players in the league. I'm not trying to rip him. He is amazing.
If Webber had not missed 34% of the season with an injury, he probably would have been first team, and a high ranking MVP candidate. Look at his numbers. He went through a stretch where he averaged over 20 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks per game. Those are huge numbers. But what about Peja?? Not even third team?? That's a joke. That's what I was talking about.
Everyone who thought that Dallas would win that series wasn't paying attention to the fact that Sacramento plays MUCH MUCH MUCH better defense than Dallas, and that Sac has three players who play well underneath, while Dallas has one who is decent. There is a reason that Sac had the best record in the NBA. Check out Dr. Jack Ramsay's comment about it on ESPN.com- http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index
Ben Wallace DEFINITELY deserved his award. But Detroit is not that good of a team. We have to remember that they play in the Leastern Conference, and still only managed second seed. How does that merit coach of the year over Byron Scott? Or Rick Adelman? And Detroit also has Jon Barry, who is one of the top three point specialists in the NBA. He won a few games for them.
The point is that people have been over looking the Kings for 4 years now. In fact, I have the NBA preview issue of SI in front of me. They predicted the Kings to finish 5th in the West, saying they were only 8th best overall. Now they are cruising through the playoffs with the best record in the NBA, and home court throughout. I'm just saying that people should start paying attention to what's going on out here in Northern Cali.
Sorry if I seem a bit amped up about this. I've been a Kings fan since I was a kid, and they sucked for 12 years. There's a reason for the excitement that you see and hear in ARCO.

| I admit that I was one of the ones that underestimated the Kings. I wasn't worried about the Mavs' lack of D because I thought their offense would be too much for Sacramento. Obviously this wasn't the case. About Peja, yeah he deserves some recogition; at least 3rd team. The guy is money when healthy. I wish your Kings the best of luck and will be rooting for them after that performance in the semi-finals. I think they're going to do it. |

| Ok, I will agree that sometimes the Kings get overlooked. But the Mavs got/get the same treatment. I guess to earn respect you have to win more than one playoff series. Well, the reason Rick Carlisle got coach of the year is because of how the team looks so bad on paper, yet managed to get 2nd in the (L)Eastern conference. Thats quite an accomplishment. After watching Bobby Jackson during the Mavs series, i believe he should have been the 6th man instead of Corliss Williamson. If BobbyJ played anywhere near like he did in the Mavs series, he would deserve it, he is just a great player. Respect for the Kings ( and the Mavs) when they start winning more playoff series. The Lakers have been winning championships for a while now, and especially with the way they destroyed Sac, Spurs, and the Blazers last year doesn't help the "experts" have any faith in teams like the Kings or Mavs.
