Motivation to do work?

Well... I'll admit it. I am lazy. Horribly lazy. Combine that with a rough year, and I'm failing this term, not because I had struggles understanding the course material, but because I didn't do very much work at all. My average is not getting higher than a 59, and I -should- be getting a 90 or so ave. I really need to change that this term... any motivation tips?

I'm generally lazy too

I doddle on getting things started. Most of the time I just convince myself it has to be done and once I start it's a lot easier. It's also very helpful to have support from people egging you on. Talk to your parents (or sibilings or friends) and see what they could do to encourage you.

It always help to get started on it as soon as possible...something which i rarely do...if you have problems doing homework or just cant concentrate, do something for a short period of time and set a time when you will try the hw again. It really helps to schedule too...

Some of my friends who do their hw sooner than I do will sometimes just call me or IM and say that they've finished studying, or finished their paper. That gets me motivated, because i then want to be done also. I guess you just have to find a method. Its also good to do the hw that takes the most concentration in an isolated room, where there is nothing there to distract you. I just go to a study place like in a library and tell myself i HAVE to get it done. Good luck!
