| What is your favorite worship song based on a scripture I was wondering what your favorite worship song is from a scripture.
Mine is Third day's "your love oh lord" Psalms 36 5-6 |

| I like all of Third Day's, but Jennifer Knapp's song, Trinity, has a reference to one of my favorite verses, Romans 8:26 that states the Holy Spirit prays with us and for us when we pray -- how awesome is that?! A buddy of mine pointed out that this verse may be referring to speaking in tongues, too. Here's the verse,
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."
Here's the reference in her song:
Oh Holy Spirit won’t you help me understand
Holy Spirit won’t you say a prayer for me
With your groanings... |

| I don't actually know what it's called but I'm sure you will all know it:
You are God in Heaven
And here am I on earth
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus I am so in love with you
And I stand, I stand in awe of You...
Ecc 5: 1-3
The other day one of the girls in my dad's church said to me that the stuff we sing in my church (same stuff most of you use in praise and worship) is totally wrong. See n my dad's church they only sing psalms with the organ, ect. So she said to me "it's all just God I love you and your so great's-where as we are singing psalms". So I pointed out that that in actual fact most of the stuff we sing is "scripture inspired" but I didn't get much of a chance to talk to her. Then during this whole week almost everytime I read my bible I come across a scripture to which the words of a song we sing in church is almost identical. The above is one of them. I also afterwards thought-what she said about the type of stuff we sing basically sums up the psamls it's all just praising and worshiping God!
Oh, well-sorry 4 the long post I just had to share that with someone! |

| That song is called "Let My Words Be Few" by Matt & Beth Redman. I LOVE that song too, especially Phillips, Craig and Dean's version on their Let My Words Be Few album. Actually, I love all of the songs on that CD.

| Now that you mention it Devin-I do recall something like that Actually this sillygirl is the definition of lazy-and that includes thinking long enough to figure out the name of a song! So thanks… |

| Aiy-yi-yi! This is probably not your "conventional" praise song, but I love Third Day's "Consuming Fire." The way it talks about letting your fires burn for God. It's so beautiful, and I wish more people would do that as a praise song. I do know it's based on scripture, cause I looked it up once, but I can't think of where it is.
