in fact u can get brazilian rosewood for 4k

from the photo...the wood looks like it's grade AA

the flame isn't all that great and the grain isn't that spectacular
Like I said, No one would spend 4K for that guitar. It's just the retail price.

Who are you to say that Brazillian is better?? I could tell you that in my opinon oak is the best and you couldn't argue with me because it's my opinion. No one can just say that one is better than another. It's all sound.

how would you know if it's grade AA or AAAAAAAAAAAA?? It's a fuzzy picture. You'd have to see it.

you're bitter about this guitar aren't you?? It's an awesome flame!

Those pictures you posted aren't of REAL peoples guitars. Go find pictures of joe-blow's guitar and then we can compare. Companies always take a picture of their "BEST" guitar with the "MOST" flame. I could do the same thing.

flame?
what flame?

anyway...no i'm not bitter:ktongue:

i'm just saying that for $4k you'd be better off with something else.

by the way, there are many other guitar makers that make Taylors look crumby (not that Taylors are bad or anything)

I would have to agree with you then. 4k is a bad price for that guitar. Good thing no one charges that.

Check out this.. its a REAL taylor.. actually, its a different taylor.. made by Mark Taylor.. I was searching for Taylors on ebay, and I found this one.. VERY NICE.. and, for $5500, it should be.

i just took a good look at that custom build.

5500...no one has bid yet...and for 5500 it has open geared tuners? i think i'm going to puke.

it also mentioned that the clapton 000-42 lists at 9500. that means it probably sells for somewhere around 5k...and i would be...well now that i look...the 000-42 lists at 15k...haha...the 000-28 lists at 10k...but i know it oesn't sell that high.

anywho...i think i'd still go for a 414 or a 314 before putting out 5k or more for any of those other three.

from what i've seen, open geared tuners (fully open, not the half open style...i have littel experience with those) have a tendency to get stuff in them and jam. i've also seen them begin to cross-thread and gouge out the gears which makes them impossible to use.

Not bad. I don't care for the abalone line down the center though. Great hunk of Koa though!
