Several weeks ago the highly influential
New Testament scholar James D.G. Dunn died. He was 80.
His work was /is highly regarded and significant. And, his output was monstrous! Much more so than I realised! He wrote 50 books. In 50 years! I'm sure many of them were edited volumes. But, still, that is a prolific output.
He left a mark on nearly sub-discipline within NT studies, but perhaps mostly in NT theology, Pauline studies, and in works on the importance of recognising a kind of dialectic of unity and diversity of the NT texts.
