What Songs Are You Singing These Days?

Our congregation does mostly hymns but we do throw in a couple of newer songs (we use videos) every Sunday. This month we've been singing Greatness Of Our God.

I'm hoping to get Is He Worthy? in the rotation before too long.

Lately we've been working on Vineyard's "Twelve:One". Other than that a collection of Hillsong (at the moment from "There is More" mostly) and Jesus Culture.

Not familiar with those.

Back at camp in July our worship for the week included:

Is He Worthy?
All Things New (Elevation song)
My Victory
Christ Is Risen (Matt Maher)
10,000 Reasons
Resurrection Day (Rend Collective)
Resurrecting (Elevation song)

That's right about when we introduced Is He Worthy? to our church as well! It's so beautiful.

Reckless love of God.
Something I can’t remember
And one of our own songs which I also can’t remember

We've started looking at the latest Hillsong album. I really am uninspired.

I was listening to “Wake me up before you go go” by Wham! This morning, I want to play praise songs like that. Especially the keyboard/trumpet bits at the end.

I am really missing the rock-trend with worship music in the early 2000s.

Tell me about it, I just want to blast my trumpet.
That high scratchy guitar solo on “reckless love” makes me want to throttle who ever attempts to play it.
Bring back the rock.

It's all synth stuff now. It sounds so boring and produced, and it's hard to really move around in it for anything that isn't a synth.

I don't listen to much contemporary worship. Can you give an example of the synth stuff?

A large chunk of Hillsong and Jesus Culture over the last two or three years. The first few tracks on Hillsong's latest album are part of the shift in genre.
