I don't have an answer. None of the other Admins are very active at the moment and quite honestly...I haven't been as active as I have been partly due to the fact that I don't know where CGR is heading. All of the things we discussed with Pauler a couple of years ago haven't come to pass and at this point I don't know that they will. A lot of folks have had major life changes take place over the last few years so that is not surprising.

If I had the money I would offer to buy CGR outright but I don't have it. I don't know what else to do. Pauler is still the owner and until/unless that changes we cannot make any major changes.

Here's a question. I know that the new versions of vBulletin have Cloud Hosting. What would be the pros and cons of that?

CGR would probably be generally be faster with less downtime and it'd be VB's problem to deal with outages and what not.

The downside would be potential ongoing costs, and the risk of such an old database not liking the upgrade process and losing data (but presumably VB would also assist with that and have an upgrade path).

This this this. Cloud hosting would be fantastic. Plus then "paid members" would actually be making a difference in contributing to the continuance of the forum.

Just a heads up. The current Admin staff is actively discussing the issue. I have been in touch with Pauler. Hopefully we can finalize something soon.

I haven't received a confirmation email yet, I've sent an email to your 'contact us' email, but this is back-up just in case the email misses its mark....

Thanks, hopefully something will shake out.... I' m just really learning the ways of transcription and would like to pass notes around, and, I work on several programs, Poelwer Tab, Tux Guitar, and every version of Guitar Pro from 3 up to 7.0.0.2... Ive made text tabs but I prefer to hear what I'm doing as I'm entering it in.....

I don't believe any of the admins have access to that email, unfortunately. I believe that goes only to the site owner. I did, however, update your account to registered status.

Please feel free to post your notes in the forum! CGR is a bit of a dinosaur and we aren't able to add tabs to the main site database at this time, and I'm not sure if we have users who still transcribe tabs, but there's a handful of us here in the forum and we may be able to help out.

Ooooh thank you! I know the site's been here awhile, but it's hard to get any conversations started over at Ultimate Guitar... too many members or whatever the case may be, though I do get some feedback... so I figured I'd try over here a bit....
