Besides the rule, I nuzt want to interject quickly and point out that I certainly have no qualms with anyone starting a separate thread to discuss McCain's history and activities.

I hope this post isnt also out of line in a thread like this. If so, I will delete.

Apologies for extending this.

I started the thread not to praise McCain. I simply posted a link announcing his death. He was an important figure in the US and was liked and disliked by many. My intent was to neither praise nor deride him. I simply wanted to share the fact.

I also agree with The Thrunkster. I have no qualms about a thread discussing McCain (both good and bad) but I just didn't think this was the one to do it in.
