I don't really have a favorite. So long as I can still play it doesn't really matter to me. But at the moment I've got Gibson strings on mine.

A little Canadian company up here called No Fame (now Pro Fame) They make all gauges of string for elec. & acous. I get them for $2 a pack. 12 packs for $20. They are better srtngs than any D'darrio or elixers or ernie. I gauratee it! They are awesome strings for so cheap too! Incredible!!!!!!! ( I've had alot of candy and coffee tonight!!!!)

Elixirs all the way. Yes they cost much more than other brands of strings, but they last at least 2-3 times longer, if not more. Just as an illustration of this, after playing on my current set of Elixirs for approx. 3 weeks, I broke the A string, and replaced it with a non-Elixir string (I don't remember what brand it was). In less than a week, there was a very noticeable difference between the A string and the rest of the strings - the A sounded much duller and deader than the rest of the strings. Also, the coating on the Elixirs helps to cut down on string squeak. And they sound darn good, too.

For acoustic strings I'm split between D'addario EXP's and Martin SP+... I've tried Elixir's and I keep braking them. I've haven't broke a set of EXP's or SP+'s...yet...

Elixir's do keep their tone nicely. Like R2D2, I once replaced a broken Elixir string with a "non coated" string and I could tell the difference in about 4 days. I haven't done this with a set of EXP's or SP+'s yet, but when I get the chance I'm going to.

-I use Ernie Ball Earthwood .11-.52's on my acoustic. Ernie Ball Power Slinky's .11-.48's on my Strats. And DR HighBeams .45-.105's on my Stingray bass. I'm looking to try S.I.T. Silencers on my acoustic. They are supposed to have the tone of a round wound string, but are smooth on the ouside of the wraps.

acoustic.....elixer .12-.53
electric......strat --- d'adario .12-.56
L.P. ------ d'adrio .10's

on acoustic thats all i'll use is elixer. i've tried different ones and i have never heard anything as good. i have a 200 dollar sigma acoustic and i had set on there for about 2 months( and i play almost everyday) and my buddy put a brand new set of martians on his 700 dollar alverez and mine blowed his away. the sound was jus soo clean. this is just my experience.
