Lightbulb Worship is my Life, not my Role

An interesting and challenging read from Bob. Thoughts?

I like it. A lot. I think we somehow boil worship down to how well a performance is, when that is not anywhere near worship.

yeah, there was a lot of grinding sandpaper stuff in this article that I needed to hear. I appreciate Bob's approach to worship.

It's a balancing act. Church musicians want to do their jobs well, so they focus on the details of Sunday morning. By the same token, we American Evangelicals have built the machine that expects these production values. We feed the "here we are now, entertain us" mentality.

Our focus needs to shift from "what we are going to play" and "how we're going to play it" to "why are we going to play (worship of course)" and "for whom?" I try to prayerfully seek God's will for each Worship service. I liked the article. Needed to be reminded by another source.
