New(old) guitar day So in the beginning of April I picked up my current guitar. I was content with LTD M-10 that I had for about a year. Than I played a Sublime Tomcat HB in my local store and quickly realized that the thin U neck shape from LTD (ESP) don't work for me. So I started to look at thicker maple boarded necks and found the '92 Peavey Predator on CL for $80. It wasn't in cosmetically good shape but sounded very good and felt really good. I cleaned it up real good and ever since I got it, I'm excited about playing, I made a lot of progress since April, and have no need to look for another guitar. Bought some extra parts from a MIM Strat (loaded pickguard, trem block and tuning machines) that I'll swap when I'll make some extra time. Just wanted to spread the word how amazing these older Peaveys are...The neck is just great, 22 frets, 12 inch radius, poplar body which I think might be my favorite body wood so far. Electronics might not be the greatest, pickups are flat pole piece style ceramic magnet rather on the hot side. Vibrato bridge is great and guitar stays in tune. So much value, these older ones are made in USA, which doesn't hurt either.
