Do u have 900 bucks to spend? Or is it better for u money wise to get the standard and a 550 amp? Think about that....

yeah but if you have a good amp and the dough why not go high quality. if it'a an american series you're lookin at I've heard that those are the best quality generally speaking of fenders line.

$900?

if you got 900 dollars you can buy a customized carvin that i guarantee will blow away any fender.... I own a fender Tele and a strat. but my carvin is one sweet guitar, less than $900 delivered... check'em out... at carvin.com

Sorry, i know how some people feel about Fenders, but i think they are overpriced for what you get...

If the only thing better about the american series is higher quality parts than i'd say they're even a worse deal cause they're over twice the price for the same guitar.

What about re-sale value ? In 20 years, I will still be able to get good money for my Fenders, if I decide to sell. What do you think people would pay for an old Carvin ?

People told me the same thing about Martin Dreadnaughts. I'm glad I ignored them.

Yay, another Carvin lover!

You know........for $390, you can build your own Carvin...I bet it'd sound as nice as any Fender American series out there (having played american series.....They suck)....

Sure, the carvin might not be worth as much as the Fender in 20 years, but with the cash you save, you coulda invested it in a mutual fund and killed the fender's value.

How can you possibly say Fenders suck ? They don't. You don't stay around for as long as they have by putting out a bad product.

Hey - dumb question but what makes a strat "fat" anyway? Is it the neck or is it the sound or something else???!!!

My favorite recent quote on CGR:

"Bono is so full of himself that it hurts. Every time I read one of his quotes, it makes me want to puke on his face. It was a good quote, but it is made bad by the fact that he is more self-righteous than George Clooney.
- Art

I am slowly re-assimilating back into the CGR.
