The Subversiveness of Jesus

Hey guys, I've been producing content (vids) related to theology and biblical studies, as some of you know.

Here is my latest (short) video on the subversiveness of Jesus.

Rupert and Warf on Jesus

In truth, this is but a teaser for a longer discussion on Jesus, subversiveness, NT Wright, etc.

He had something in his throat apparently.

Am I supposed to for "for" or "against" the subversiveness of Jesus? I forget.

Whichever floats your boat!

Part of that, too, is the point of the video. How, 'subversiveness' functions in Jesus scholarship, which you can see in someone who is 'liberal' contrasted with someone who is evangelical (in this case Crossan: Wright).

Just a quick thought as I'm listening to this while working on other projects.

This reminds me of my readings of Walter Wink in his discussions on systems and powers. He kind of shifted my view of Jesus within a system to systems being within the created order and needing to be reigned in according to their proper place within creation as submissive to Christ.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what the video is about, but just something that was in the back of my mind while listening.

Hmm.

Interesting.

I'm a fan of Wink's work. I may have to give this another listen with that in mind.

Also: If anyone is interested in reading the article and doesn't have access to university resource, I would be more than willing to pass it along.
