| Hurricane Harvey So this could turn into an event worth discussing and should be less volatile.
I'm south of Houston, so a little East of landfall. However, we're looking at 15+ inches of rain in the next 5 days or so. Then next week I head to Louisiana for work and it looks like the storm could re-enter the Gulf and then make landfall again in Louisiana. fun, fun, fun, fun. |

That's one thing I don't miss.

| Looks like this thing is going to camp over Corpus Christi for about 48 hours then move back towards the Gulf before passing over my house on the way to Houston and beyond. If it goes a little further south before moving on to Houston it could develp into a hurricane again. Good times. |

| Here's something else worth watching. The yellow X represents a tropical disturbance that is moving north and then will likely move north easterly. So this system could dump a fair amount of rain over north Fl. Ga. and the Carolina's... then it's possible the remnants of Harvey could follow over the same region a few days later. Over the next week or two we could see significant flooding in multiple places. |

| Now a Cat 4 with another 3 hours or so over the Gulf before landfall. At my house it's been tornado warnings all afternoon. One made landfall slightly to the south of us.
They're calling for 2+ feet of rain in the next 24 hours or so. That's right over 2 feet of rain.

| Christ our true God, who calmed the stormy seas through Your divine power, making them obey Your voice when Your disciples feared for their lives, calm now the tempest and make safe the seas, making safe all who are in danger, forasmuch as You are good and the lover of Mankind, the hope of the hopeless, the saviour of the afflicted, the safe harbour of the sailor, and the refuge of the weary, now and to the ages of ages. Amen. |

They're saying this is the most rain ever dumped on a large city. Watching the local news it's amazed me how many pictures of highway overpasses look like bridges over rivers. One of our old members here (I think he was DemonHunter) is there and I believe displaced. |

| Oh shoot.
This is scary as heck, man. I was reading (maybe you were the one that posted it?), that like 9 trillion gallons of rain have been dropped. I cannot fathom that number.
How are things at your place? You guys ok,?

| Is it true that this is being considered worse than Katrina? I heard that somewhere but haven't read any actual reports about what's happening, just what's been on social media.
Praying lots for that area of the country, I can't imagine how terrifying that must be. |
