It is nice to know that for once, the world is really on our side on this one. I mean, when even China and Russia are backing your plays, you are probably in pretty good shape.

That said, nothing involving nuclear weapons is a good thing...

I didn't even realise that China and Russia were siding with us til today. Really interesting!

Of course, like everything else they say, I'm pretty certain that this is just the usual NK bluster.

Yeah, I do not have a clear recollection of China being an ally in this situation.

Just leaving Seoul today. A lot on the news but most South Koreans I spoke to said escalations like this are usually pretty common around this time of the year.

That said we do have a new commander-in-chief that likes to run his mouth off.

My reference to China and Russia being on our side on this matter was referencing the fact that they both agreed to the UN Security Council unanimously voting to impose additional sanctions against North Korea. The US was, of course, the driving force of the resolution. The resolution is the direct precursor to the nuclear threat from North Korea. China and especially Russia have a long history of shooting down resolutions pushed by the United States against North Korea, so it was a pretty big deal when they agreed to this one. Looks like we might be okay for now. Perhaps Weird Al did manage to prevent nuclear war with the international language of accordion music after all.
