Country Guitar Tone Settings?

I figure a tele threw something like a Vox AC30 Top Boost on a 2x12 w/Delay,compression and maybe chorus??? Any suggestions?? Im looking for a real "bouncy" chickin' pickin' tone. Have you ever heard "Finish What Ya Started" by Van Halen??? I play metal and hard rock so this is all new for me. I'm trying to expand my horizions. Delay and compression settings, amp type are what Im looking for.

Telecaster, AC30, and some reverb will get you started. You'll want to play in the bridge position for maximum twang. Listen to a bunch of Brad Paisley. He's got the classic country tone in my opinion. Your other option is to play everything clean in the neck position.

Much of the country tone is in picking style. The Atkins style is where it happens.

I don't know that Gatton used tons of pedals and effects. Sounds like a Fender Twin to me.
