My godsister's as-yet-unidentified tumor-y thing

Hey all,

My twelve-year-old godsister, Liza, has an as-yet unidentified tumor-y thing on her sternum. She has a medical condition that causes her to occasionally grow benign tumors, but they can also become malignant, and so we're all worried.

She had an ultrasound on Thursday and they'll discuss the results with her family as soon as possible.

Liza's mom, Laura, was one of my sponsors when I was received into the Orthodox Church, thus she became my godmother (among her responsibilities, therefore, are praying for me, guiding me in my faith and giving me a gentle smack if I end up acting like an idiot ). Her kids have basically become like brothers and a sister to me, and I love her husband, Fr. Aleksey, who was recently ordained a priest. I love their family so much and Liza and I in particular seem to understand each other well on account of her disabilities, which sometimes cause her pain.

Thanks for praying, y'all. <3

Praying, for sure.

Is this the same family that almost ran off the road a few weeks back?

No. Thath's Fr. Justin's family - he's my parish priest.

Laura and Fr. Aleksey and their kids used to go to our church, but then Aleksey went and got himself ordained to the priesthood and the Bishop asked him to start serving a couple of mission churches that are pretty far outside Vancouver, so they travel to either Gibsons (north, and not that far except for the fact that you can only get there on a ferry) or Kamloops (east.. by about 4-5 hours) most weekends.

Laura's a PhD student at UBC so I see her often.

Hey folks. My godsister is fine.. kind of. They're not sure why she's still in pain, but the lump was just a weird thing about how her ribs connect to her cartilege or something.

Still worrisome, but not *as* worrisome. Thanks for your prayers
