Cool

Don't ask me why a skillet fan is the first to post on the jars board. Their second album was the first album of theirs that I listenned to, and I love the atmosphere of songs in that album. I also really liked their first album, but their seems to be nothing special about their third album. Somebody said that they are a mediocre band with an incredible debut, and maybe that's what it is. I still like them, but if they don't come up with something breathtaking, I might not listen to their music anymore.

Their self-titled album was their best one, in my opinion. The songs on that album really speak to me sometimes in a certain situation. Right now, in youth choir, we're singing "Love Song for a Savior" for Valentine's Day. That song, to me, is a great worship song. But I'm not really all that impressed with their later albums either. Much AFraid was pretty cool, most of it anyways

I think Jars have really grown in their musical abilities individually and as a group, and they are doing what I love about music... making it yourcreation, and making it enjoyable for you, making it fun. The latest cd is a fun cd, with the same focus on God, Christ, and the message of the cross. I love having the feeling that the band members were all smiling and laughing while they recorded (and wrote) their stuff, and thats exactly how Jars sounds to me.

Actually, Jars of Clay really hasn't done anything EXTRA-ordinary. I mean they're just another CCM band that made it big because, like stated in the previous replies, of their awesome debut CD.

"If I Left the Zoo" is good, and songs like "Can't Erase" have that underground, Christian, Indie-pop sound to it. So I guess they're expanding, sort of.

Unless they really break out like Third Day did in the next CD, I don't really plan on buying their CD, but maybe giving it a whirl over the airwaves sometimes.

I did enjoy If I Left the Zoo, but nothing could take the place of their first album. Maybe they're not the greatest in all aspects, but you've got to admit-some of their songs have powerful lyrics.

Personally I enjoyed their earlier albums better than their new ones, just like you guys. Personally, my favorite is their self-titled album. But I got the opportunity to listen to their White Elephant Sessions CD the other day, and I thought it was pretty cool. The remix of "Unforgetful You" was cool and it was also neat to see some of their earlier songs on it too.

Peace and Love ~ Kijanu <))><
