The Old Man, The Young Musician

Hello World of Christ

I've recently returned to church. I have a guitar..... 1 inch dust on it, but new....believe me it is new....less than an hours active time. .... At church the main Sunday services are all high tech...Keyboards, Drums, full sound system to make any misician dream of....

The Thursday service, for the elderly, in a hall along the side of the auditarium we have a piano and a pianist that would occationally appear....

Here I come and in my dream I see myself strumming away at some golden oldies to assist these gentle people with a song.

Looking around I found you and now hope you could help me with a few basics to start learning guitar.

Hey from Japan!

Hey RodneyD,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm fairly new here myself, and also still pretty new to guitar. I started playing bass in our church almost 10 years ago when I was 50, with almost zero experience with musical instruments, and about 4 years ago decided to try a 6-string ... my teenage dream a little late.

I'm pretty sure all of the folks here are more talented than I am, so hope you can find the answers and guidance you need!

Cheers!

Howdy and welcome! Good to see you around!

Pull up a seat and take off your shoes. It's a nice place to hang around and chat with other believers about guitar and pretty much anything else!
