Remember Luna Halo?

I've been listening to a lot of music that I used to listen to as a teenager - music that really influenced my style of guitar playing at the time. It has brought back a lot of memories being with friends - making music. No band, though, brings back more memories than Luna Halo, though. Their debut album, Shimmer, was a great album; and one that I still listen to this very day. At the early age of 15, I wore out that CD. One of my favorite songs was Superman...that guitar solo, at the end, always raised the hair on my arms. I also enjoyed the song, Forgiveness. That intro with the harmonizing guitars taught me about harmonization, and the many layers you can add to a song. This was probably one of the most enlightening albums that unlocked my potential as a guitar player. In my opinion, a very underrated band.

They were very underrated.

I listened to Shimmer a couple of weeks ago. Like you, I love Superman.

I remember the name but can't recall a single song at the moment. I'll have to look them up again.

Didn't Luna Halo evolve out of Reality Check?

It's starting to come back to me.

Taylor Swift covered one of their songs.

I'm not sure about those statements. It wouldn't shock me though.

Yes, Leboman, you are correct. LunaHalo formed from Reality Check. The frontman, Nathan Barlowe and guitarist Jonny Macintosh disbanded to form the early-era of LunaHalo. After the Shimmer album was produced there was a lot of speculation about what happened with the band from disputes with Sparrow Records, to Big-Egos, and just the plain old "creative differences" excuse. Either way, Nathan Barlowe recruited a whole new cast of musicians and darted away from the Christian scene keeping the name.
