power chords

I have been playing for 3 years and I need to know how you can make your power chords cut through the mix and how you make them sound more full. any advice would be much appreciated
I also need to know how you can make a slight crunch using any overdrive that would make your notes sound more powerful.

Isn't that the sound guy's job?

Honestly most of this comes down to EQ. A proper balance of low, mid, and high in your tone (what's coming out of your amp) is going to give a solid raw signal to the sound guy to work with. Then your sound tech can tweak and mix it from there. No pedal is going to give you perfect tone. Just play around until you have something that sounds great.
