2016 Christmas Haul!

Share yer spoils, ye scurvy dogs!

Small haul this year for me, but quality:

1. A new wallet to replace mine that is turning to tatters

2. Eight (yes, eight!) Tim Hawkins DVD specials!

3. A really fun looking board game called "Watch Ya Mouth"

Pretty small amount of loot this year due to the whole family deciding to lessen the number of presents because they're flying out to my wedding next month, so I count it worth it .

How did you all fare?

Some money from family in the US.

A framed picture my friend took of him, another friend, and me. We are a bit of a trio of homes. It was a beautiful present.

A book about cats that live in UK Cathedrals.

Some truffles.

A really nice bottle of beer. 14% alcohol.

A day of food and cheer with friends who have, in some ways, become like family.

I'm into giving gifts, and not being one for knick-knacks or doo-dads, tell folks to bless their kids or their neighbors instead. A few "disobedient" friends bought me wine ... the know me well!

I got a nice "black rooster" Chianti Classico, a Siciliano Nero d'Avola, a California Zinfandel Reserve, and for Junko a Sicilian Chardonnay (never heard of that one).

Junko got me a few long-sleeve shirts when she wa in Hawaii ... always nice, as shirts my size in Japan are either sumo wrestler waist or "fitted" (funny, they don't fit me!).

My kids know me well ... my Amazon US wishlist for books or obscure luthiers tools are fulfilled, and they bring them over when they visit.

I am blessed.

Merry (day after in Japan) Christmas!

A really nice flatcap.

An ammo can and a knife from my work secret santa. (Which I can narrow down to 3 because only 3 people know I shoot)

My wife was incredible. She got me a 3M Littman Cardiology IV stethoscope. It's turquoise with dark charcoal bell and ear pieces. It's so beautiful.

While probably only a few of you will appreciate it's awesomeness, suffice it to say that it was the perfect gift for me at this point.

The other big thing was gift cards. My MIL gave each of us a fairly sizable giftcard to a fairly nice restaurant. We are looking forward to using those. Amazon and Visa gift cards from a good friend. And many other small things.

Uptown Thrunk,

We also received some beautiful mugs made locally at a pottery shop!

And you got me an awesome scarf and hat and a new backpack!

And according to family we have "gifts in the mail!"

Seriously, this thing is pretty cool and works reasonably well. The only issue is my Maton's tuning heads are a little small so I have to sit it just right to get it to catch on the grooves. But it works quite well on my Ovation. As long as my bass heads fit in it (which they should) everybody wins
