It's always a good morning when UNC wins and Duke loses the night before.

We now have a two game lead in the ACC with three games to go. Win at least two and we're regular season champs again.

Go Heels!

So Gonzaga lost a game. Big deal, it's not like it makes a huge difference in the scheme of things. They are a really good team, but records are misleading. What record would the Tarheels put up there, if they played that conference? Duke? Kentucky? Kansas? Not saying their ranking is inflated, but when the big dance rolls around, your higher seed might help you get to the 2nd weekend, but after that, the playing field is extremely level, and the talent/experience usually shakes out who belongs in the Final Four (with an occasional surprise).

Come March, there will be some Cinderella team emerge, and I'm hoping I can pick the right one in my bracket. It's been several years since I have had any luck in my picks however.

No doubt that Gonzaga's good but I agree. Put them in the ACC and see what happens.

UNC lost by ten on the road at Virginia.

That I can l live with. Scoring on 43 points is inexcusable. It's their lowest point total since 1979. They normally score 40 points in a half.

They better get it straight before Duke comes to town.

Of course, they've still clinched a portion of the ACC regular season championship.

Seems like it was the perfect "trap" game. Looking ahead to Duke, and forgetting to take care of business now. I agree about the point total. I kept reading that headline and thought, 'that can't be right'!

How cool would it be to work for Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway. I read where he's sponsoring a contest among employees, and if any of them correctly predict the sweet 16, they will get a million dollars a year for the rest of their life! Of course it's an extremely long shot, but quite a bit different that predicting a perfect bracket.

I get a bit caught up in college basketball, and spent this afternoon watching the senior night game from last night (KU over Oklahoma), and then all the senior night speeches. It's kinda weird, but I actually get emotional watching them. Of course this season, Coach Self's own son, Tyler, was one of those players. Cool to see, and watch these players become young men.

So...I'm in a bracket pool at work, where you are allowed up to 4 brackets. Usually I don't like multiple bracket pools, but anyway, I purchased 4 and have various overall winners, KU (naturally) and NC, Kentucky (never count out talent like that, and one just a bit outside the box, Arizona.

I might be a bit crazy, but last year my bracket was broken in the first two days. ha ha.

So, I had been paying almost no attention this year.

Then Nevada went and won the Mountain West Conference for the first time. This is their first NCAA tourney since 10 years ago, when they were in the Big West. Eric Musselman did a terrible job with my Kings, but he's killing it with my Wolf Pack!

I don't know or care much at all for basketball, but I joined a group with my friends, so I've got Duke going all the way!

I've got the Zags taking it, but I've barely followed this season outside of LaVar Ball.

A rematch of last year's game with UNC getting revenge for the buzzer beater.

I've got Duke losing to Baylor in the Sweet Sixteen, Gonzaga losing to Notre Dame, and Kentucky losing to UCLA.

I didn't pick any crazy upsets this year.

Not sure if it qualifies as crazy upset, but I have Middle Tennessee going to the Sweet 16. I truly believe this year at least 6 teams could put it together and win it all. Not one team truly head-and-shoulders ahead of the rest.

I've got two 11 seeds (Xavier and Kansas St.) beating 6 seeds (Maryland and Cincinnati) and a 10 Oklahoma St.) beating a 7 (Michigan).

My picks are just gut feelings and I wouldn't bet on any of them.

Some of the games today were too close for too long. Lack of upsets made the day kind of boring, but Middle Tennessee made up for it.

I missed two yesterday. I had Minnesota beating Middle Tennessee and I had Virginia Tech beating Wisconsin. That's not too bad.
