I've used GuiTune for a couple years with no issue. Even supports alternate tuning.

I pick up a landline phone and listen to the dial tone, which is actually F#. I tune my low E string to that. Then the next string with the 5th fret harmonic. Then I drop the low string to E and tune the rest of my guitar by ear.

I used GuitarTuna the other day. It seemed to work okay.

Or you could buy one of these:

Not free, but Guitar Tool Kit has been the best guitar app I've ever purchased. I've been using it for a few years now.

For android:

I usually use:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ork.dsp.datuna
It is pretty good IMO.

If I need to tune in another reference frequency I use my own app (the tuner works for most stuff):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...charangomaster

Try Yousician, it has a built-in tuner program.
