I like the choice. I've followed his career since Community started, and I think he has the nerd cred to pull it off even with such a big name.

I feel like this is going to be one of their riskier outings.

Getting Han Solo "wrong" could really irk people.

Meanwhile we're all just waiting for the inevitable announcement that Ewan is signed on for an Obi-Wan movie.

Yeah. Can anyone capture Ford's portrayal?

Also... I know it was a sort of joke, but do you think it would be a disaster for their to be a Obi-Wan movie?

I think Ewan McGregor is an amazing actor and it could turn out cool. If, ya know, it was done well.

I'm willing to give it a go.

Other actors played the role of Indiana Jones quite well.

I like the choice for Lando as well.

This one has me pretty scared. I don't want this movie, and there's a lot that can go wrong.

I would watch 20 of that. I loved him in the prequels.

AN Obi-Wan movie basically the only stand alone movie based on an existing character I think I could get excited about. I would get REALLY excited if they didn't go BIG BLOCKBUSTER with it. Let me change that, I'll lose interested if it is BIG!!!!

The problem with Han Solo is that Ford defined the character and the next guy is probably going to have to impersonate Ford without having a chance to make the character his own.

I mentioned the other guys who played Indy and if you watch, that's pretty much what they were doing. They pulled it off but they were doing Harrison Ford.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have exited the Han Solo Star Wars movie, and Ron Howard has taken the reigns. Like 4-5 months into filming. Yikes. Or wow? Or...

This is pretty close to unprecedented. The closest I can think of (and there's a lot of similarities) would be Superman II.

The rumors just keep pouring in and they don't really paint anyone in a good light.

Ron Howard would have made tons of sense....in 1988. But he's such a weird pick in 2017. Which in it's own way makes sense. It's really a Kennedy and Kasdan film at this point. They just need a big name for hire to complete their vision.

What do you think of the rumours that the guy playing Han needed an onsite acting coaching?

Is this because of the weird stuff the original directors wanted him to do?

I thought he was great in Hail, Caesar!, btw.
