It strikes me as information taken out of context. As a headline it sounds really bad, but when you consider :

(1) Actors getting an acting coach in Hollywood is common,
(2) He's in the tricky position of playing a character previously only played by one actor for 39 years,
(3) The directors were doing weird stuff

...and with everything else going on, it doesn't seem particularly note worthy.

But I never thought this was a particular good idea for a film. It seems so risky to me.

With so much existing fan fiction and published, no-longer-canon writings on this already, it's a risky move to even undertake such a movie. Still, I'd like to see it on the big screen. Give me some entertainment that includes one of my favorite fictional universes, and I'm standing in line, every single time.

Side note, I greatly enjoyed the Han Solo trilogy (Rebel Dawn, etc.) and thought it was very well done.
