What the heck is up with the avalanche of spam we have been getting lately?

Is there anything we can do to decrease it?

This. I feel like half my time on CGR is deleting spam threads.

One of the issues we've been having with this particular set of spam is that they aren't IP centric, so doing IP bans aren't necessarily successful.

Lo! How a rose e'er blooming from tender stem hath sprung,
Of Jesse's lineage coming, as seers of old hath sung,
It came a flower bright, amid the cold of winter,
When half-spent was the night.

Isaiah t'was foretold it, the rose I have in mind,
With Mary we behold it, the Virgin Mother kind,
To show God's love aright, she bore to us a Saviour,
When half-spent was the night.

O flower whose fragrance tender with gladness fills the air,
Dispel with glorious speldour the darkness everywhere,
True man, yet very God! From sin and death He saves us,
And lightens every load.

No. And from what I can find, there isn't an option to enable it. We need new software.

Every morning I come up here and mass delete spam posts. Like thesteve said, they're not always IP specific.

Cool. I was just wondering why it seemed all of a sudden like we had gotten a flood.

I wish we could, some day, improve the site so that it didn't happen.

Maybe.

We should try to fight it with prayer and fasting
