NGD

after playing guitar for the best part of 35 years, and building a fair few in my time I finally bought a really nice acoustic.

I did a partial trade of a stack of East Indian Rosewood for the back and sides of acoustics along with some cash, to get this little beauty from Dermot McIlroy.

Jumbo size, Mahogany back and sides, spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge.

as big a sound as a Lowden, but a much more slender neck.

on top of the wood I paid more than I paid for my car, but still a good enough deal that my good lady wife just rolled her eyes, rather than throwing me out!

Looks very nice.

I don't know that I've actually given jumbo guitars a real try. My favourite sizes tend to be smaller than dreadnought. I should at least try a decent one some time.

I LOVE a big guitar.

I have smaller ones, but my go to has always been a Jumbo.

as to dreads?

Just don't like 'em.

they don't sit right on my knee as I'm playing and they're just too..... well...... the same as everyone elses!
