Favorite Christian Comedians

Besides Tim Hawkins and maybe Bob Smiley, who are the newer Christian Comedians who you all have seen and loved?

A few I've seen include:

Jonnie W.
Michael Jr.
Clayburn Cox
Marty Simpson
Daren Streblow
Kenn Kington
Robert G. Lee
Nazareth

Any others?

Charli Riggle and his nom de plume, Father Vasily Vasilyvich, author of The Onion Dome, which is being BEST Orthodox satire magazine on internet (even though it was not putting of jokes on world wide web in 19th-century Russia!)

May only be funny if you are an Orthodox Christian or at least an appreciation for the eccentricities of Orthodox Christian cultures, and have a particularly bizarre sense of humour.

I should add that Adam4d drives me insane.

Tim Hawkins is the only one on that list I really recognize.

I'm with Lee. I'm actually really excited that now I have a list of more comedians to check out!

A good spot to get recommendations is the Tim Hawkins' Poddy Break Podcast. He does a fairly good job of shining the light on others. Plus, you get to hear them without having to invest too much time or money.

An old Bible college buddy of mine was doing stand up but he's made the transition to other things now.

I actually know both of these guys but Christian is the one I went to school with.

How are we defining this?

With a looser definition, I'd add Jim Gaffigan, as well as MST3K alums Michael J. Nelson and Joel Hodgson.

It always come around to this question. Many years ago someone asked C.S. Lewis if the world needed more Christian authors, and he said No. What the world needs is more authors that are Christian.

I love Jim Gaffigan, and on last season's show he even broached the subject of "Christian comedian" and it was a great take on the social culture that seems to grow up in "Christian" circles. I enjoy comedy when it's funny, and don't judge it based on the performers (professed) faith.

Using the loose definition, I would include Nate Bargatze

Using the same "loose" definition I would include Studio C out of BYU. They're pretty funny.
