My take so far

Day -1:
Womens Football: US is on another level

Day 0:
Mens football: (Go Denmark!)

Day 1:
Archery: South Korea will most likely take all the Gold

How was the opening ceremony? It was in the middle of the night here, so didn't watch it.

If the US dominate the women's football can we rename it for what it is? It's soccer.

Go USA!

I find it hard to fully enjoy any events that require a judge to tell me who wins the gold/silver/bronze. Give me track and field where the first across the line, or throws the farthest, jumps the highest will win regardless how it was achieved. They are athletic, no doubt, but I get so frustrated with others judgments.

I don't mean judges, as in they are officials and making sure there are no false starts, or fouls in team sports, but judges that don't even agree among themselves in what to score a routine, such as gymnastics, or diving. Very athletic endeavors, but personally I find it much too subjective.

Penny Oleksiak has now won 2 medals in 2 days for Canada in swimming. She's 16.

If the USWNT dominates and the men don't, can we start referring to them as the US team and the US men's team?

I agree with Tuner. I also dislike subjective sports in the olympics.

US leading the medal count as expected. You guys are good at swimming.

Noteworthy is Kosovo that got a gold medal on their first ever olympics. Great achievement for such a tiny country. Vietnam also got their first gold ever.
