Is the forum done

Seems like if it weren't for spammers we don't have much going on. I am going to miss this place.

I particularly enjoy the secret santa game. Love seeing the crazy stuff people send.

Well, I come here less often now, as not as much happens--but also due to life.
I had stuff since Sunday that has severely limited my online time...

Indeed. This.

Though I sometimes wander, I always find my way back.

The guitar subforum has been dead/dying for a long time. I think a lot of the typical guitar forum arguments were had here many years ago and there's seemingly not a lot left to discuss.

I'm a member of several forums and here it seems to be lack of posting. On others I'm just tired of having everything I post beat on and criticized to death.

Surely slow posting here lately. I may leave. Not feeling much love on here. Not that I need it from anyone here, but not feeling it nonetheless.

I think the greatest asset of this forum is not just the gear knowledge, but the sense of actual people caring about one another. If you haven't ventured outside of the gear forums, there's a lot more this forum offers that can't be found elsewhere.

I know for me, I came early on for the tabs and the gear talk. I had a lot of questions as a new guitarist and learned a lot. I continue to stay for the community. I don't play out now. I can't remember the last time I turned an amp on and collect more than I should, but I have developed real relationships with real people here. I've met a few in real life and they're the real deal. We share our personal struggles and we celebrate our victories. I have found this is a better place to actually voice my thoughts than any other internet place.

So, all of that said, I encourage you to venture to the other sections of the forum. We would love to have you join our family.

I just joined the forum a few days ago, truthfully to place a classified, but I quickly found lots of interesting stuff. I even joined in on an interesting debate when I dropped in on Leboman's journal. It was a mature and enjoyable conversation, at least from my view. You just have to be careful and end those conversations once everyone has said their piece/peace or things get out of hand sometimes.

It is very difficult to convey on a forum what you are really thinking because facial expressions, tone of voice, etc. are not present. I have a very sarcastic sense of humor and it does not translate well to forums most of the time.

I guess some people get burned out or offended and bug off. I actually got invited to leave a forum one time because I wouldn't "leave God out of this". LOL I told them I'd leave God out of it if they would leave the world out of it. I don't think they got my meaning.
