Staying Productive

Do any of you have any tips or tricks to staying Productive?

I feel as though I am in a constant battle to get various bits of work done. Often I fall prey to diverse vices, foremost being social media.

Recently I started challenging myself to only visiting Facebook three times a day. Morning, noon, and night.

I am not always able to keep this schedule, but it has helped my productivity.

Anyone else have any tips?

I start my day with a written plan, either by priority or linear, depending on what I have to accomplish. I assign times to the items, like an agenda, and include breaks.

A simple example: I have to read 120 pages of boring stuff. I decide that I have 2 hours to get through it. I'm starting at 10:00 a.m, so I'm going to write out a little schedule that says at 10:15 I should be on page 15, and at 10:30 I should be on page 30, etc. This way I can scratch off my little goals. By breaking it down into bite sized pieces, I can reach goals and it helps me to stay motivated.

Scheduling in breaks is very important. If I know that I need to stand up and stretch for 2 minutes every 30 minutes, I'm less likely to get up and wander - I can wait for the stretch break.

I have a 90-day plan, monthly plans, weekly plans, and daily plans. They build on each other.

I hope this helps someone!

This is super helpful.

And, I realise that it is a habit that I may have difficulty in implementing, but I think I can do it.

And, in a way, I think the planning may be a bit fun

You can even create a plan for making it a habit. Get a calendar, and circle the first 21 days, and commit to making a morning plan every day for 21 days. Cross it off as you create your plan and stick with it. You don't want to break the commitment, so you are more likely to keep up with it. After a while, it starts to become a habit.
