Blessings from Southport

Hi Folks, I'm a worship leader in Southport, England. I play modern worship songs and my take on traditional hymns... largely on a beloved Strat. I've only been playing 6 years and am moving from largely flatpicking, to simple fingerstyle and Travis picking.
I write rocky kids' songs and Celtic-flavoured worship songs, and am a big fan of Eric Bibb, so am sneaking in the odd bluesy gospel song of my own too.
I also play an Epiphone Dot, which I'm looking to improve with some better pickups (advice please) and recently purchased a handbuilt Yamaha Compass CPX15 (got it as an ex-demonstrator for a third of its value) but - boy - playing proper acoustic is so much harder!
As I'm usually solo, I flesh the sound out for some songs with a Beatbuddy drum pedal. As a drummer for some 15 years, a drum machine was something I resisted (with horror) for quite a while -but the Beatbuddy is brilliant, with real sampled drum sounds, choices of kits and fills from a real drummer - and the ability to set up verse/chorus/bridge and switch on-the-fly. It really fills out some arrangements. I'm also teaching my brother-in-law to play bass: no experience... just staying one lesson ahead of him on YouTube!

Thanks for the welcome guys.
And thanks for the Marxism, Thrunk, one of my all-time favourite quotes!
And good to know there are members in England.
I've had a revelatory couple of weeks in my guitar-playing, on the basis that a real photographer is never without a camera... So a good songwriter should never be without a guitar.

But I think it's worth a wider share, so I'll try and start a new post! See "Piccolo"
God bless!
