I listen to an occasional podcast when it is linked to me, but I've never gotten into the habit of following a particular producer of podcasts. I guess I only listen to them in a situation where it could be a youtube video instead, and end up choosing that as an alternative. I don't tend to take headphones on commutes.

I don't really like listening to podcasts, but I make an exception for Louder With Crowder. You may now all judge me.

What the heck is the attraction with that Crowder guy? He's bombastic and just plain mean (I've seen him imply that all feminists are ugly on the basis of a few out-there SJW types). Seems like, if he claims to be a Christian, he could do with reading Ephesians 4:29.

Then again, evangelicalism in general seems pretty bombastic (which is part of the reason I left it).

I listen to the livestream of Ancient Faith Radio from time to time. Particularly, Father Michael Gillis' podcast Praying in the Rain. Fr. Michael is the pastor of an Antiochian church about an hour from me.

==========
Christ is risen! Indeed He is risen!

You descended into the tomb, O Life Immortal,
You destroyed the power of death!
In victory You arose, O Christ God,
Proclaiming rejoice to the myrrh-bearing women,
Granting peace to your apostles,
And bestowing resurrection on the fallen!

He's essentially a comedian who just got sick of the way everyone pussyfoots around the issues and just comes out and says it. I think it's just a combination of impatience as well as saying things in a way that will actually make people listen.

And he says consistently that he is far from a perfect Christian. It doesn't excuse his actions, but he is also aware that he isn't the best example.

I listen to The BJJ Brick podcast weekly. It's a jiu jitsu podcast. I write articles for the website and am an occasional guest on the show.

I listen to The Jiu Jitsu Podcast. Obviously another jiu jitsu podcast, but it's Texas based and since I'm south of Houston it's cool.

I listen to Rock and/or Roll which is a rock history podcast focusing mostly on the slightly obscure rather than the typical Beatles, Rolling Stones,, Ozzy, mainstream.

I listen to the Secular Buddhism podcast weekly. Buddhist philosophy minus the spiritual "become a Buddhist" angle. "Don't use Buddhist philosophy to become a Buddhist, use it to become a better whatever you already are".

I guess currently those are the ones I listen to most consistently.

I have two that both Art and Lee may enjoy (each for different reasons)

- 372 Pages We'll Never Get Back.

This is a comedy podcast hosted by none other than Mystery Science Theater 3000's Mike Nelson, who is one of my favourite comedians, and his friend/co-worker Conor Lastowka. Conor writes for Rifftrax, with is Mike's long running post-MST3K movie riffing outlet.

This started last year as a 1 season only read-through of Ernest Cline's bestselling book Ready Player One. Because the book is terribly written. Like, it is really really bad. So, basically the podcast is them reading afew chapters a week. It is hilarious, especially because they have different funny segments like 'Fanfic or Real', where they have to guess whether a paragraph or so is actually from the book or if it is fanfiction. It is way more fun than it sounds.

They started a new season in January and it just finished where they were reading Cline's second book, Armada, which was critically panned.

-Like Trees Walking

This is a politics, theology, and philosophy commentary podcast hosted by..... You guessed it! Mike Nelson! And, also his pastor David Berge. They talk about all sorts of stuff, but especially philosophy and theology. It is really fun to listen, encouraging, and funny. Again, Mike Nelson is great, and it is really cool that he is a devout, and intelligent, Christian.

I really think that Lee would, especially, like this.

Looking at the list, it's 3/5 Catholic shows, but that's not a conscious or curated decision. I just like the shows. Like Isaac, I'll occasionally livestream Ancient Faith, but their content is really hit or miss.

On Being with Krista Tippett

Jesuitical

Word on Fire

Connecting the Dots with Mark Shea
