Anybody here like rap?

So recently I've really been getting into writing a little rap, and I find it to be a huge stress reliever. I've shared it with my friends and they say it's good, but frankly I never trust my friends (because they have to say it sounds good), so does anyone wanna read some and tell me if it's decent?

I enjoy some rap, but it's not a genre I'm particularly fluent in. I'm not sure what sort of criticisms I'd be able to make.

Has it been put to a beat yet? What sort of style of musical backing are you going for? Are there any particularly artists you're trying to emulate?

If you do ask me to check your raps, a bit of context for what my opinions might be - my favourite rappers would probably be Jurassic 5.

They are not put to a beat yet. . . They are just lyrics. I would actually put them to a beat and invest time into them once I think they might be good.
It's nothing too complicated I'm just wondering if my rap lyrics are good and worth my persuing.

I enjoy spoken word, but never really got into rap.

That's fine. You don't need to hear mine then.

I love rap. It was huge when I grew up. We used to have rap battles with friends. Fun times.

I like it in small doses...unless you're talking about Hamilton, in which case I think it's one of the best pieces of music ever composed.

I'm with t_b_r on this: I enjoy it, but I probably can't bring a ton of useful criticism to the table.

Ok, well,I might as well share some lyrics I just wrote.

Some say I'm broken,
I'm just misunderstood.
You know you might as well display it on a billboard,
Just how much you hate me,
Just how bad you think that I am.
Girl, I chased you for a mile,
And now you say never ran.
I never loved you enough.
I never wanted you enough.
Girl, that's bull.
You know that all I ever wanted was your love.
I didn't say I was the one.
I just needed a chance.
You don't want me?
Then that's fine,
Was never one for my romance,
But don't ever say that in the end my heart was never true,
And don't ever say that after all I never did love you.
