Yes, and the toothpicks work easy. The doweling I have seen go wrong on lots of guitars I have fixed. And if you have stripped out a hole multiple times, there is generally some user error involved like over tightening. I prefer to add, rather than subtract. And with doweling done improperly... ...you don't even want to know what all can go wrong that I have seen. Its hard to screw up putting something in the hole. And it holds permanently if done well.
