Router

I am considering moving to another room. It is further away from everything, so instead of train and kitchen noise, I would have toilet and next door neighbor watching movies noise.

That room is unfortunately a bit too far from the WiFi router, so the signal is very weak. There is cabled internet in the room and I was therefore considering (if I decide to move) if I should buy a router, so I can have WiFi in the room, as well as the possibility for two cabled connections.

So the signal doesn't need to be that strong (has to work in the room, if I go somewhere else, there is the other network). The main requirement is that it is good enough to allow playing multiplayer games (I found a cheap one online that apparently wasn't good for this). Preferably not that expensive as I am very low on cash.

Any suggestions?

paid
You can pick up TP-Link wireless N routers for not very much (less than $40AUD here). They do an alright job and are fairly straightforward but flexible.

If you're in a house, you could try moving the router to a more centralized location so there is more balanced signal reach to all rooms.

I'd recommend this: TP-LINK-TL-WA801ND-Wireless-300Mbps-Repeater

This will extend the currently-in-place network instead of creating a new network (which a router would do). And it's pretty cheap. Simply mount it where you need it, and run your ethernet cable to it.
